I would also like to emphasize that PLN is intricately linked to one''s personal knowledge management (PKM) capabilities. With complexity, chaos and flux taking over and becoming the norm, we can expect codified knowledge stocks to have very short shelf-lives. The former wouldn''t make sense without the latter.

This necessitates individuals to practice Personal Knowledge Management (PKM) and build their Personal Learning Networks (PLN). Since not all L&D members possibly use social media to drive their own professional development, acquiring the skills of PKM will require some time and effort. They must reach the users.
