Since my Top 10 list of LMS vendors has been posted online, I have received quite a bit of e-mail wondering why the biggest names: Cornerstone On Demand, Saba, SumTotal and SuccessFactors are not on the list. Plateau is long gone and buried and people should realize that. A LMS should first be a LMS.

And yeah there are vendors who will taut that they are in X list or Y rankings and thus should be included. This isn’t a beauty contest, nor a pay for play (I NEVER accept that, nor play that game, nor do I accept any referral fees or whatever some vendors offer for recommending them). Not everyone gets in. But I digress.

A lot of great products out there this year, new updates and latest versions; new companies, new services and just some real innovation. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Learn.com offered some robust SL capabilities, but you have to pay for one of their premium versions to have it.

A few of the more interesting graphs that you can't really see well except by going and seeing a larger version at LMS Satisfaction and LMS Barriers and Features. Several of the LMS vendors appear more than once, such as Oracle. As these systems catch up, this will make the market really hard for Saba and SumTotal.
