Given that smartphone sales are estimated to exceed PC sales by the end of this year, and mobile Internet users are expected to exceed desktop Internet users soon after, I have finally concluded that the time is ripe for mobile learning. I call them the 4 S’s of mobile design.

Don’t believe the hype - The ultra effective marketing campaign by the Apple folks would have you believe that the iPhone is the most popular smartphone in the world.

Apple’s incompatibility with Flash is widely known, but then there are the audio and video formats to consider. For all the rhetoric in the LMS market about mobile learning, IMHO they are designed principally for the desktop. Oh the quirks! Moreover, I think I would have been going down the wrong track.
