These discussions center on what requirements should go into an LMS RFP and more broadly how the LMS should really be integrated into the organization. Initially, the conversation was about having learning content appear on the enterprise portal. It's certainly better than putting a static link to your LMS somewhere on the corporate portal / intranet. But this only scratches the surface of what it means to integrate the Learning Management System (LMS) into the systems that people use day-to-day in an enterprise. I've had a similar discussion several times over the past few months.

If we’ve learned nothing else in recent years, we’ve learned that improving performance through learning is more effective the more it is integrated with real work. Learning pundits encourage the “integration of learning and work” but don’t always offer practical strategies that busy learning professionals can to use to make it happen. This past month, I had an opportunity to do an assessment at a strategic level that called for an integration of performance consulting, Learning Environment Design , and good old-fashioned needs assessment. While I had conceptualized an integrated approach to assessment when I taught a design course last term, this was the first chance I had to really test it out. My goal was to recommend a learning strategy for strengthening a desired skill set across several roles in our organization. A typical scenario for creating an elearning course with Captivate is to create multiple 5-10 min modules of Captivate movies that are integrated using the aggregator or the multi-sco packager or by creating your own navigation shell using Flash Pro. Today, I’ll show you another option that is available for creating a course with multiple modules.
The Adobe eLearning Suite integrates Adobe Captivate and Adobe Acrobat Pro to help you create a PDF portfolio containing your Captivate movies, complete with rich navigation. You can easily publish these n the web or distribute it via email.

I particularly cited a DevLearn demo of twitter being embedded inside Captivate as the basis of a social learning experience.
