Note that one person can hold multiple roles. These are ROLES not PEOPLE. Instructional Technologist This role is less commonly found. | DARETOSHARE APRIL 4, 2010 Key Social Learning Roles Community members should be able to perform one or more of the five roles described in the table that follows. The road ahead : I am presently developing detailed role descriptions, community guidelines, role assessment tools, and the identification of appropriate learning products and offerings. Role Description. Premise : Learning communities or networks thrive because its members possess certain skills and capabilities. One model I've developed is around the roles and interactions members of a community have as participants in that community. The graphic to the right demonstrates the four types of roles in an online community. | E-LEARNING PROVOCATEUR APRIL 29, 2012 What exactly does an E-Learning Manager do? The thing is, the role of “E-Learning Manager” (ELM) is a grey one. Even within the one role at the one workplace, the breadth of what an ELM might do can be staggering. Are there any budding ELM’s out there who have different expectations of the role? roles e-learning E-Learning Manager elearning eLearning Manager ELM job professional role | BRAVE NEW ORG JULY 5, 2009 Roles in the ‘New’ Training Org To prepare for the inevitable, there will be the necessary change requirement to update roles in the organization. Through past experience, and future leaning, here is my take on the future roles, their skill and description: Role. dots between C&L Tech Strategist & Producer/Aggregator roles. Formal learning roles don’t disappear overnight – in fact, these roles become hybrid roles over time with those mentioned above. It’s a work in progress – nothing is set in stone – roles/titles, etc. Skills. | CLARK QUINN OCTOBER 27, 2010 The role of the university? What’s the role of K12, and then what’s the role of a university? However, if those are accomplished in K12 (when I’ve previously argued learning how to think might be the role of the university, and now think it’s got to be before then), then what is the role of university? Unhappy in many ways with the current status of education, particularly here in the US, I’ve been thinking a lot about what would make sense. Some thoughts recently coalesced that I thought I’d put out and see what reaction I get. So what then? | | | | | | | | | -
THE LEARNING CIRCUITS BLOG | SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 12, 2012 What will your training role be in the future? After sitting in on a training professional competencies focus group at TechKnowledge 2012, I became more inspired than ever to think about the role that learning and development professionals can look forward to in the future. One thing seems nearly certain—as time passes, the role of the training professional and instructional designer will be transformed. This is why various titles for our new role are being suggested, such as "Learning Experience Designer" and "Learning Architect" (see review of Clive Shepherd's book, The New Learning Architect ). The last time I looked at roles in education I was inspired by Anil Mammen to create a table based on his definitions. think some of the descriptions can be used in a prescriptive way of getting out of our industrial, hierarchical mindset and moving to an enterprise 2.0 or wirearchical culture. In networks, learning is the work, so a critical part of this culture shift is viewing learning as quite different from traditional training. Getting There. Wirearchical. KAPP NOTES | THURSDAY, MAY 27, 2010 3D Virtual Immersive Environment Role Plays A 3D Virtual World role play provides a realistic environment in which two or more people act out a scenario. Role playing is valuable for immersing a trainee in a job she would actually be doing. No matter what direction a learner takes, the experienced person playing the other role can provide the right feedback and act appropriately for the role. In a virtual immersive environment, some of the traditional obstacles and barriers of conducting face-to-face role plays are eliminated. Retail sales role play in a virtual world. MORE >> -
ID REFLECTIONS | TUESDAY, DECEMBER 27, 2011 Content Curation: One More Role for an Enterprise Community Manager How does this tie in with the role of a community manager, you may ask! What role can an enterprise community manager play? In this case, the community manager's role would be akin to that of a museum curator. Faced with the tsunami of information, we are all floundering to find our way to content that actually matters. From setting up filters--both of the automated and human variety--to trying to make sense of what we find, we are in a fix, so to speak. The scene within an enterprise is not much different. The lifespan of enterprises are declining rapidly. MORE >> -
ROAD TO LEARNING | SATURDAY, JANUARY 29, 2011 The New Age Instructional Designer The role of an instructional designer is essentially driven by a need to find appropriate solutions by applying instructional design strategies and models to transfer information to users who use a particular product or service to perform their jobs. Changed Learning Methods As time progressed and technologies evolved, the role of the instructional designer as we understood it several years back, underwent a paradigm shift. Design content solutions that are specific to an audience and the tasks the role is expected to perform. MORE >>
