Itiel Dror provided us with another highly entertaining session at Learning Technologies 2009. This time he shared the results of two new studies which attempt to shed some light on what it is that helps learners to remember new material. There are reasons other than their clients demanding it.
Within a few hours of each other, I received two requests for referral to service providers. One request was for eLearning development providers from fairly large 5,000+ employees based in the US. Likely they would want to have a provider who is fairly local, but not sure about it. We've looked at a few eLearning vendors and haven't been thrilled. We found the three US vendors expensive and/or light on good ID and the India-based vendors (Tata and Brainvisa) are priced really well, but would require more extensive project, quality and ID management.
The first is from one of the major corporate LMS providers, Saba . quot; Essentially, Neulio provides a low-cost hosted platform for sharing content in a structured manner, whether that's for training, customer information or performance support. The silver plan, at $149/month and gold at $249/month add extra functionality that many employers will want, including compliance reporting. These offerings, and no doubt many more to come (and others I simply don't know about), will provide a gateway to Learning Although the use of Web 2.0 technologies for learning is on the

Drawing from interviews with key vendors, the 50 or so page document summarizes the companies and their systems, with details about the features, backend structures (important to make sure members will be able to access the system and you’ll be able to provide it), pricing models, and contact information. They intentionally didn’t provide one of those checkmark charts, but you might decide to create your own in order to sort through the narrative comments. If your assocation has decided to incorporate an internal social network (”white label network”) — a network that resides in your Web space, attached to your Web site and usually connected to your AMS, as opposed to FaceBook, LinkedIn, and other publicly-available systems — then you’ll want to get your hands on this new white paper from Socialfish.
This new online tool is available free of charge to all colleges and learning providers in the FE and Skills sector. The launch took place at Becta's Next Generation Learning conference where Minister for Further Education, Siôn Simon MP, challenged leaders from colleges, work-based learning and adult learning organisations to step up to the mark in their use of technology. Siôn Simon MP said: " I really want to see Further Education students enjoying the opportunities and benefits technology offers. want to see our colleges and training providers recognised nationally
From: Anecdote: Collaboration provides autonomy A very short post from Anecdote, the para jumps out at you, not only because it is the first para in a post that is 3 paragraphs long, but because of the underlying message it conveys. Last week I started a new Making Strategies Stick project with a large IT company. The guys I'm working with are the technical sales folk and as we were working out their strategic story they mentioned that the passion that was once there for their products seemed to be waning among some of their technical specialists.
