Articles and books are describing how a generation raised on video games is invading the workplace and demanding new online learning environments. 60% lower sales is a really difficult thing to manage. You have fixed overhead. Temporary Downturn or Changing Landscape? While the market is tough right now, there are some people who believe that learning businesses who sell classroom, virtual classroom and courseware training will rebound once the economy rebounds. And maybe within some niches that's true. I personally believe that traditional training as publishing is on an overall downward trend. I'm certainly not alone.

The WiZiQ virtual classroom tool runs in Flash and contains many (although clearly not all) of the features associated with expensive commercial systems.... I've had a good look at the WiZiQ site and I can see no way for them to earn revenue. Providing bandwidth for 1000s of virtual classroom sessions sounds expensive. Am I missing something?
These techniques will enable participants to focus on their day-to-day activities by providing them pragmatic and easy-to-apply approaches to leading successful virtual events. Live from room Palm 4 at Hilton, Orlando, Florida (My comments will be in Italic) Frank likes to clap hands and he gets some questions at the beginning of the presentation (he is focusing on virtual classroom training) and uses bulleted ppt (not published yet, so I cannot link to it yet, but that is why I have bullet lists below based on the ppt...

It took me a while to adjust to the idea of virtual classrooms, what with unreliable connections and then endless online death by PowerPoint. I was eventually converted by my participation in a wonderfully interactive and engaging webinar delivered by someone who's name I have entirely forgotten (my apologies if by some extraordinary chance you are reading this....
Learning will be fully networked. As the virtual workplace gains in popularity, more and more people will be working from home, in different cities and different countries. I've gotten many, many questions about this and finally have an answer. Here's a product with much of the functionality as the big boys: Chat, VOIP,video, and an object-oriented whiteboard (one of my favorite features, and one missing from several commercial products). Check out www.wiziq.com (pronounced Whiz + IQ like the test). Live demos scheduled regularly.
Additionally, it is important because I have students work with each other in teams and the closeness of the virtual world helps foster trust among the students and they work well together virtually because they have a sense of one another.
Last week I wanted to use a virtual classroom to record an eLearning showcase we were having at ITM (were I work). Unfortunately the hotspot was not stable enough at that time and so I had to improvise to be able to redistribute what was happening in the room on a later date... So yes, there are different virtual classrooms (dimdim, eluminate, wiziq...
