They have a public version of their roadmap that illustrates their product vision as well as an internal version that lays out the details of their plan for developers and other staff. There’s only one way to find out: talk to the vendor’s clients. How well has the vendor been in keeping their roadmap promises?

Ask around for request for proposal (RFP) samples and send one of them to a dozen LMS vendors? Never send an RFP to 12 vendors or even 8 vendors. Doing your own research using a variety of methods: website review, calls, conversations with peers and technology vendors, and peer review sites like ReviewMyLMS.

I couldn’t care less whom these vendors have as a clients. The vendors as a whole, not just the 75, will always show big names. Unless you ask are you exclusive which means “the only learning system” at the company, association, etc – the vendors won’t cover that, while showing you the clients.
