It is the same assumption that unless you buy one of the Big Dogs – Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, etc., E-Learning 24/7. Next week: Product Review – Saba Social Learning Platform. There is an assumption that in order for a system to be great it has to cost over 75K. That is so wrong. . Sorry no CODs.

They involved talent management, “hello and goodbye” with vendors, social learning, upswing in mobile learning, new feature sets in the authoring tool space, flat lining in web conferencing and standalone platforms. LMSs/LCMS/CMS/learning platforms in commercial and open space continued their presence.

Q: Saba, SumTotal, Cornerstone, Taleo, SuccessFactors must be the best because a lot of people buy these systems. Case in point: IMO one of the worst UI’s I have ever seen comes from Cornerstone OnDemand, which is quite popular. I wouldn’t recommend this system to anyone, okay maybe my worst enemy or someone who deserves no mercy.

Growth in number of new vendors coming into the space. So for every vendor that leaves the market, another one is coming in. In my LMS directory (which includes LCMS, Learning Portals) there are 369 vendors. Bringing the total number to 375 vendors worldwide. Another 6 will be added this week.
