open source software options: Audacity. Mixer–no open source ones out there, but Audacity does a lot. He also has a keyboard (the piano kind) for music too. Save to CD, swf, avi, mp3, Quicktime. lots of music, instruments, etc available. microphone–dynamic or condenser. Pop filter.

It creates data backups, video DVDs and music CDs. Open Office. I keep hearing good things about Open Office. It’s open source software, yet actually has some Help documentation. Skype is the software of choice for talking to people over the Internet, using a headset and mic. BURNING CDs and DVDs.
