Looking for systematicity, the aviation industry created a subcommittee to develop standards for Computer Based Training: the Aviation Industry CBT Committee (AICC). Learning Standards.

History of the LMS

In 2000, I built my own LMS for a company, and was hired to create an e-learning program for customer training, as well as run a training division with ILT still in play (blended). Who were the folks that oversaw the LMS I read and hear how it was designed for compliance, and thus compliance folks were the main users.

I think informal/formal was designed and suited for ILT, not e-learning, because from the days of Corporate in 2000, you could do informal with your LMS. I’ve never been a fan of assigned learning (formal), so I rarely did it – except for compliance. You could do it in 2000. There were systems that offered it.

Advantages of WordPress over Moodle

As you may know, Moodle started to be developed back in early 2000. Some organizations still have a big investment in legacy content that communicates using the SCORM or AICC formats. Since SCORM/AICC is such an old standard, the newer platforms such as WordPress will not support it. What type of programs could I run?

SCORM 2004, AICC what does it all mean? I’ll exclude the technical components or specifics on SCORM and AICC – plenty of info. It is a standard – compliance. SCORM and AICC. If you go back to 2000 or so, there was IEEE (not to be confused with firewire). Honestly, AICC is so early 2000’s.
