CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Other fun tidbits AICC was the leader here, then came SCORM. WBT (Web-Based Training).

Yet, there were some products that stood out, if nothing else – for taking the lead and doing something that says “yes it is possible, and oh, it works&#. 2010 E-Learning 24/7 Awards (No official icon logo handed out to winners, rather just a “WHOO-HOO&# – uh, you can make that sound to yourself.thank you).

2004 3rd edition? Because if you are using a content authoring tool that is SCORM 2004, then you must find a system that is at least 2004. What about AICC? Unless you purchased a tool that is only AICC compliant, which in that case, time to ditch it and get another one. What SCORM compliance are you?

elearning maker - another product form e-doceo; screenwriting, storyboards, media inserts, selection and moving of elements plus more; a beginner could use some of the features, but a developer has some additional capabilities and flexibilities. Multiple learning paths or branching. and SCORM support and learning objects.

Product: Raptivity. Don’t get me wrong, this is a product that offers some really great features, but it constant pitching within the product to upsell, becomes irritating, so much so, I can easily see someone blasting the product into recycle bin space. Before you use the product, you must have Flash 8.0

As the evolution of e-learning continues, the rapid content authoring tools (RCAT) market follows suit. This is a growing market with new vendors showing up, but at the same time, others disappearing. Macromedia Authorware and similar products. 43 Vendors do not have one. So nobody can see their product.
