PowerPoint – Ability to integrate or use PPT in your courses. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Screen capture, audio editing. Seems logical, especially since it is a necessary tool in any content authoring toolkit for end users. It isn’t.

Thursday, May 10, 2007 Learning Styles In 1996, when I first started working as an "instructional designer", I was taught about learning styles. In the context of e-Learning (back then it was just plain old CBT), this meant you had audio/video on the screen with timed text bullets. I always tune out the audio and read ahead.

This uses a special engine that converts text inputted as closed captions into audio that is saved into the published file. This is a great feature for those of us with accessibility requirements, and for those who wish to include audio but do not have the budget for recorded speech. No word in when at this point.
