Along with my Internet Time Alliance colleagues Jane Hart & Clark Quinn and several hundred chief learning officers, I attended the Fall CLO Symposium this week. The buzz on Friday was Skillsoft’s acquisition of Element K. It’s intended to underpin the dialog between CLO and executive management.

Bob started his career in adult education with Element K (now Skillsoft ). Such interventions can only partially help in transferring knowledge to the workplace. ADDIE, for instance, is oriented around a content mindset, not context. Bob has also been the Learning Advocate for the Masie Center for the past six years.

If there was a perfect assessment system, someone could just prove what they know, regardless of how they gained the knowledge. Rather than declare ADDIE dead, wouldn’t it make more sense to be sure that we are using it properly? ADDIE for process), is that most are based upon a flawed premise. Make it Blended!
