In this two part blog series we look at information that you can use in Adobe Captivate 5 to parallel decide the quality of an image and the SWF file size and bring forth the differences between the publishing of images in CP 4 and CP 5. Selecting ‘high’ for all slides results in a large SWF output file.

Get rid of White start screen with Black button (HTML output)

For SWF output you had the choice: it was possible to change the default setting which was to have a movie playing automatically after loading. I will take a screenshot of that slide while it is playing to save as a PNG (or other image format) and then hide the slide to avoid it to be included in output.

Need help publishing my Captivate

I have created an online tutorial with simulation using Captivate (2019). png,mov,avi,jpg. How do I post my publication into a platform like Teachable? They accept.mp3,mp4,pdf.,png,mov,avi,jpg. I can also upload an url…but when I try to upload the index.html file – the screen is blank.

Rebrand courses without republishing

They don’t have Captivate and don’t want us to replace images and republish multiple modules every time they want to resell the courses. The logos are on multiple master slides and are png files. They haven’t asked yet, but we know the client’s name is also on the TOC/project info.

Same for the clickable area: can be limited to the image itself (provided you have an image with transparent pixels of course – no JPEG but GIF or PNG). The other Preview methods are all still based on a temporary SWF output (except Play Slide, which is NOT a preview method). …sure will find more of those.
