Adobe Captivate Slides Voice Voiceover

While working on a recent eLearning project in Articulate Storyline 360, there was a delay in getting the voiceover audio back from our voiceover professional. The dealy was particularly problematic because several slides had image builds that had to be synchronized with the voiceover audio.

by Kevin Siegel When it comes to adding narration audio (voice-overs), Captivate developers have plenty of choices. You can insert audio using any of the following methods: Object-Level Audio Right-click any slide object and choose Audio > Import to or Audio > Record to.

by Jennie Ruby I often point out in my classes on writing eLearning voiceover scripts that a script is necessary so that when you record the audio you don't skip anything, don't stumble, and don't say "um." In the Slide Notes pane, you click the TTS check box.

by Kevin Siegel Using Captivate's Text to Speech feature allows you to quickly convert written text to voiceover audio. Prior to converting a slide note to speech, just add a bit of code (known as Voice Text Markup Language or VTML) to the text. It's an awesome feature.

There was usually so much information on the slides that it was nearly impossible to retain anything. Once I see a slide that says I’m on slide 1 of 80, I tend to immediately shut down. I’ve also seen eLearning courses developed with rapid development tools like Adobe Captivate or Articulate Storyline.
