OR you can create courses SCORM 2004 courses within their tool which is in the “cloud&# and do the same thing. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. iPod, mobile phones, YouTube, message boards, e-mail. Create SD and HD movies.

This year, I estimated a 55/60% e-learning, including some ILT vendors offering some type of e-learning component. . In all the years I have attended and have known about ATD (formally ASTD), this year is by far the most in terms of e-learning vendors, especially those in the LMS space.

May offer the ability to take a course via an e-mail link or twitter link or in another fashion. The downside to training management products is the inability to upload any other 3rd party authoring tool or courses from an off the shelf vendor. Yeah, you can upload word docs, PPT, etc. When they say trial what does that mean?

Many people today prefer 3rd party authoring tools and in fact, I recommend that route rather then using a vendor’s built in authoring tool. SCORM, AICC. Offers e-commerce module: Yes. This format is common when people create effective user guides or QRCs for training, even a navigation guide for online courses.

It was difficult to say the least and learning it wasn’t much easier. The Macromedia set typically would toss in Director, which created an equally impressive array of course capabilities, but a deep learning curve. PowerPoint or Word converted to Flash, instant, virtually no add-ons, i.e. additional learning objects.
