The Association market is by far, IMO, one of the top three markets, that as a vendor, you should be in. In the past, I’ve always listed the association mkt within the B2B/Customer Education, because it does fit nicely within. There are Professional (which most folks are aware of) and Trade associations.

Probably the least fun experience you will ever have when looking at or considering any type of learning system (LMS, LXP, EXP, Learning Platform, Craig’s Javalinas R US, etc.). Ditto if you want employee learning for retail operations and talk to a vendor who only works with associations.

Let’s face it – RFI/RFP documents sent over to learning system vendors are massive tomes that confuse, challenge and even baffle some vendors. Yeah, they are focused on essentials, again, forgetting this is a learning system and is for learning. They can be 25 pages. 50 pages, even 100 pages or more.

In the learning system space, despite what you may have heard or read, or in some cases, read pre-pandemic for projections, for many of the vendors, it is equally rough in comparison to many other industries, regardless if they are brick and mortar or online only. not suppliers), on what they are seeking in a learning system, often noting the LMS and an LXP. Some want a hybrid of the two, others want features that they believe may not exist in one system or another. Sure a vendor can say we are an LXP, but a LMS too or vice versa. No, it is not learning software.
