From a vendor perspective there was a huge impact, but what was odd, is that some vendors still are living in the past, as though, this is a minor blip, and in 2021, everything will go back as it was – corporate wise that is. Sorry to disappoint – but it won’t. . that needed a system. I say no more. .

Oh, and from the HE, all the courses were linear in nature – in other words, synchronous based, not asynchronous (which is self-contained and people bounce around to focus on what they are interested in learning – I know, a radical concept!). Nor Lectora. Interactivity? It’s no wonder people hated it.

Each time, I do, the first thing that pops into my head is “e-learning” The second thing is “asynchronous based” – i.e. self-paced learning. There are some (low though) MOOCs that are asynchronous based, and based on some talks I had with students who went through them – they loved em. Step three.

Whether you ever record your own voice scripts or get into the mechanics of video production, it serves best knowing the tools your ‘vendors’ are using. Lectora , Articulate , Captivate , Rapid Intake ProForm , and many others are great tools. You still may need to tweak and edit the audio or video files in some way.
