Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. In just the past month, I have seen quite a few vendors add this capability in their product – and for the most part they are all RCAT products. Audacity which is free – destroys it. This feature is showing up all over the place.

LMSs – Finally vendors took notice. Authoring Tools – With only a small sample of vendors that are SaaS based, pickings are slim. Despite overall consumer demand (not just within e-learning) for tablets, and numbers showing that tablets are outselling notebooks, e-learning vendors as whole are sitting back and waiting.

And if we are going to talk about social media, why aren’t there any vendors from countries such as China? Quizalize – Assessments that you change into games, for education and HE. Audacity – It is a free, open-source audio tool. Even when it is in an LMS or other types of learning systems.

Several years ago we engaged a vendor to create three eLearning modules for a new product launch. When I went back to the product marketing team with the request for budget to re-engage the vendor, they were less than enthusiastic. Since then, I have created numerous eLearning modules, games, assessments, and other content.

In some academic environments, commercial off the shelf (COTS) computer games will better meet a need than any educational simulation. Build versus buy is a critical long term issue, although most organizations will want to leverage vendor experience initially. Evaluation criteria include: learning objectives, cost, ease of deployment.

I never found course creating on par with playing an X-Box game. If you prefer to have multiple layers of recordings for one record, I strongly recommend using Audacity (which is free), then save and export the recording to Storyline. Nor, did I find it on par with petting my dogs – which heck is fun. Nope, never.until now.

3, Interactions/Animations/Games I don’t want to get into the Flash debate here but let’s face it; the.swf output file is here to stay for a long time. A note on the word “Games” as it still has a negative connotation in the workplace. It’s a game people! For more information on graphics, visit my resources page.
