More of a surprise is that with the exception of 6 web conferencing vendors, who have apps specifically for the iPad/iPad2 market, you can count on one hand the number of LMS/LCMS vendors that offer the same thing. PGP (Portable game players) are listed number three only behind smartphones and tablets for mobile devices sold.

As social learning continues to grow, LMS/LCMS vendors are taking various approaches. While some view themselves as “social learning&# savvy, incorporating various components, others seem to see themselves as just sitting on the sidelines. It is not as though, social learning is going to disappear.

I believe that you can expect some type of voice capability with the actors/avatars as in the ability to either lip synch with the characters via audio tool/recording tool in the product will show up more in 2013. One vendor already offers it in 2012, and knowing this industry – if something takes off and works, others will follow.

The latter is slowly gaining speed, which is an advantage to LMS vendors who have a CAT in their own product – which is SCORM,PENS/IMS compliant. Over 98% of the LMS/LCMS/learning platform have at least one compliance standard, so why use a RCAT that doesn’t? Screen capture, audio editing. Again, why?

Screen recorder or desktop recorder converted into Flash or.AVI or.WMV or MP4 format or other formats, with audio/video editing and recording (not all mind you offer audio/video editing). PowerPoint or Word converted to Flash, instant, virtually no add-ons, i.e. additional learning objects. E-Learning 24/7.

If you wanted to work on creating content, for many people, the route would be and still is creating courses via a desktop based rapid e-learning authoring tool, or via your LMS/LCMS vendor’s tool (hosted or not) or via Dreamweaver or some other type of solution.
