Product Review: GeoLearning GeoMaestro

GeoLearning’s GeoMaestro is a LMS that packs a wallop but at the same time has some features that provide limitations. Strong ILT functions (for those who offer instructor led training). What is really nice about GeoMaestro is that GeoLearning has thought long and hard about this issue and has solved it.

ILT (Instructor Led Training – Workplace, even EdTech – K-12 and Higher Education). Heck, I was in a doctorate program, whereas the majority of the ‘courses’ was via Lotus Notes, the other was ILT. Why have a system to house courses, when ILT was the main way of learning and training? And people.

The LMS – Let’s Set The Record Straight

The Comments I posted on my LinkedIn Learning thread about this upcoming blog post and one about whether you really needed an LXP, and the comments rolled in. Because, ILT, on-site, was the only way, the main way to learn (excluding the guides nobody read) didn’t and still doesn’t offer that. Now is that effective?

Well, I guess for ILT, and even then as time has evolved, it hasn’t. I think informal/formal was designed and suited for ILT, not e-learning, because from the days of Corporate in 2000, you could do informal with your LMS. And in 2002, many more – I used Geolearning – it offered lots of informal options.

Both of these could be part of a larger Learning Program that includes more traditional online or ILT based training - all of which are delivered and reported on via the LMS. GeoLearning.
