I admit that in general I have been underwhelmed in the past with Saba. So, when I went and checked out Saba Social, Saba’s new social learning platform, I had very low expectations. Over 25 different social media types and Saba Social sticks with the ones everyone always sees – WHY? I was surprised.

Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Saba does a good job as well. Please remember for TM or as some vendors like to pitch as “performance management or knowledge management&# , the modules are extra and are not part of the system (at least for now). These standout to me. Categories.

What I like about conferences is the ability to see the latest products and hear the pitches from the vendors. Yet, for all that do it, their are equal number of vendors who do not. Vendors who hand you a product (trial) and their business card or they just have their items in a bowl and you grab one. TK 11 Products.

Virtual classrooms and smart-boards are used in a more student-centered way (not putting all the attention to one person up-front=bad). Twitter, Yammer), wikis, blogs, discussion groups, etc. open up exciting opportunities for people to access relevant information where and when they require it.

I’m a more recent reader of Dave’s blog and occasionally have conversations with him in Twitter. The social media available within the Mzinga LMS includes blogs, discussions, rating, comments, and social profiles. These links can be included in any discussion, blog, comment, idea, file or any other community content.
