Unlike a PLE, an ILE is communal. If we dispense with online courses in favour of PDFs, how can we incorporate interactivity into the learning experience?

I recently participated in the #PLENK2010 MOOC, a Massive Open Online Course to study PLE’s PLN’s and PLM. Structure added to a panel discussion can add great value, while still allowing for informal learning to happen. But it seems you learned that in the process. It had upwards of 2,000 people register.
