Dreamweaver was not created for people to build courses in, rather it was created for people to build web sites and other web related solutions. A novice could learn it and do some things quicker than Dreamweaver. Most people find this to be a really nice offering and a real competitor to Dreamweaver. Let the Slayers list begin!

FlashDevelop: We like this free and open source (MIT license) code editor, which has support for AS2 and AS3, code completion, and code generation. Adobe Dreamweaver: We use this HTML editor to create websites and XML-based eLearning courses. Our team just loves it. MS Word: This is our preferred tool for storyboarding.

Adobe eLearning Studio but it is with Dreamweaver and you need to download the HTML5 kit. LMS vendor allows you to set your own cost for courses, content, products, etc. Let’s say that my system costs 15K, but the client for example, is going to sell their courses to college students or association members or whomever. .

The code is Open Source and not proprietary like Flash. Although Adobe announced they will support HTML5 in the next version of Dreamweaver, it will be interesting to see how they handle the bigger battles, especially since Apple uses only HTML5 and future tablet vendors, plus all the major browsers will support HTML5.
