I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. That said, across the board for all Big Dog systems, their social learning functionality was weak. Social Learning is limited.

Back in the days, the Plateau platform was ghastly awful. Jam – which is their social learning and collaboration tool. BizX modules that come with the system: Compensation, Employee Central, Learning, Collaboration/Social, Performance and Goals, Recruiting, Succession/Development, Workforce Analytics, Workforce Planning.

I often hear people say they want mobile learning in their solution, social learning, e-commerce, but when you ask for specifics they sometimes have a blank stare on their face. Especially if it costs extra. Because it is just a feature, just as mobile learning is a feature – that comes with the system.

I am projecting that by the end of 2012, you will see HRIS features come into play, but more so as an additional cost module. The freebie does not offer SCORM nor monitoring, but has social learning, assessment tool inc. Plateau is now called SuccessFactors. Why more features on the side of HR? Corporate Side.
