Some of my favorite surprises in 2023, okay, have continued for many years, and still are rocking it, include: Rapid Content Authoring Tools – that have been reduced down, to be nothing more than slides where you can stick images/items in, and lots of templates. Even today, by learning system vendors on the corporate side.

Words can be interpreted by “experts” in our space, without anyone questioning the “expert” and whether they truly know the industry, because there are a lot of experts in our industry on LinkedIn, apparently. Learning Systems – I like this, but that? 95% of the industry, doesn’t.

I will go thru several areas for e-learning, not just learning systems, although by far, it will be the most, since a lot has happened in 2020. . SaaS authoring tools, well the ones I think are top-tier, are offering more and more templates than ever before, especially for B2B/B2C such as product training for example.

Usually tends to skew towards employees, however one vendor, Docebo, their system has more customer education clients than employees, but not enough to hit the threshold of 80%. Functionality tied around cohort-based learning is on the wow factor. Overall, functionality scored high in my template. Metrics are solid.

And not only do they provide the “course marketplace or content marketplace”, but they are adding content for free, to when you buy the LMS or other type of learning system. If one was to look at the e-learning industry (online learning), learning systems make up the biggest share of the space.

It does seem like such a large number, but when you realize that there are over 1,300 learning systems around the world, 85 isn’t such a big number. A built-in authoring tool is listed as an inquiry with any learning system vendor, but it a vendor doesn’t have one, they are not eliminated as a result.

On the learning system or any online learning platform, would security be even better using blockchain? What really bothers me more so, is when certain learning system vendors tell me they do not offer social or NexGen functionality because their clients either do not want it or because of security concerns by the client.
