Just as the folks alive during the infamous Black Sox scandal of 1919 would remember – regarding the fixing of the World Series (baseball) – this statement can easily be applied to many items appearing in the e-learning space itself. Identifying “e-learning” to mean online content and nothing more.

The grades are in for Education focused LMSs

Most systems in the education space are still strongly focused on synchronous based learning. Thankfully there are systems that are starting to offer asynchronous as well (referring to systems that are not universal, rather education market only). Testing/assessment – online proctoring is a bonus. Instructure Canvas.

One Step Behind

Yes, Blu-Ray boxes offer the net stream, HBO on the Go too, and NetFlix, but what I am referring to, is that you can see real time, and while you can argue that NetFlix is real time – it is pre-existing movies and shows, taped for download, not in the true sense of “real time&#. Especially when you add social learning to it.

Product Review: BlueVolt

Mobile Learning – yes you can view it on tablets and smartphones. Social Learning – No. Many people today prefer 3rd party authoring tools and in fact, I recommend that route rather then using a vendor’s built in authoring tool. Built in Content Authoring Tool – No. IMO, not a big deal.
