New E-Learning Rankings: Authoring Tools

best products that work under water (summer time) and from the e-learning prospective – the best authoring tools. Vendors can move up, down or out of the rankings – after all it is on-going. Listings can always be found on a new page called “rankings” which will appear in one month – thus eliminating the need to do a search (if applicable). I always prefer going from 10 to 1, it builds excitement. #10: E-Learning 24/7.

Evolving the E-Learning Experience for the 21st Century

eLearning 24-7

What always stuns me are vendors who state they know what their learners want, but in reality have no clue, because they themselves do not see the technology and its usage among the masses. A greater number of people, worldwide are using SaaS then ever before, mobile products, tablets – especially the iPad – is growing at a feverish pace, people are using online storage, beyond just placing photos and media, and open source is continuing expansion. Articulate, Captivate and Lectora – Do they deserve your praise?

eLearning 24-7

Two weeks ago I got the wonderful opportunity to speak in OZ, specifically Melbourne, Australia. What I found was an extensive group of people hungry for anything e-learning. They were hungry to know more information. Hungry to learn as much as they could and hungry to see what was in the space. My sense of it all, was that regardless of the location the buzz is all e-learning. I wasn’t surprised on the e-learning excitement.

The Latest: Rapid Content Authoring Tool Market

eLearning 24-7

The RCAT (rapid content authoring tool) market continues to be healthy with nothing to slow it down – uh, except maybe one thing (more on that later). Yeah, I know we have just jumped into January, but in a review of the past several months, authoring tools continue to follow a similar path amongst themselves with certain feature sets. However, where you would expect some to move towards – they haven’t, which is disappointing on multiple tiers.

Authoring Tools- The DevLearn Experience

I readily admit that I was unsure what to expect. I knew that its core audience would be instructional designers and e-learning developers. . From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . In the demo at their booth, they readily showed numerous avatars, and it would have been very cool to see the true synch experience – something that Storyline cannot do.

Being Thankful: E-Learning Thoughts

eLearning 24-7

A time to get together, relax and over gorge on food – whatever it might be. You watch a couple of football games, normally including the lousy Lions (not this year, though) and grumble to yourself whether you should eat that last piece of pumpkin pie or not (I always eat it). It is also a time to be thankful. Thus, it makes only sense to present my list of “thanks” from an e-learning perspective. No registration to view.
