I’ll be the first to admit, that I was not a big fan of the previous versions of the Plateau system. After viewing the Plateau TMS, my concerns in one area have been eliminated, in others, not so much. Plateau LMS is a Talent Management System, made up of four modules. Plateau Learning. Plateau Performance.

I include Learning Portals, LCMSs, as part of the mix. Big Dog (Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, Cornerstone OnDemand, Learn.com). Extended Enterprise – System must have e-comm, multi-tenet – fully skinnable, additional functionality. Saba does a good job as well. These standout to me. Categories. Razor thin?

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Back to the original days, who did well Plateau Learning – Today? I argue no.

Plateau is now called SuccessFactors. The alumni and career mgt modules might be fee based, hard to tell, but the rest is free. Rapid Intake will stay as is – name, feature wise, etc. These guys are always leaders in the authoring tool space, and their mLearning studio rocks – IMO. Learn.com is now called Taleo. LMS Demo Shop.

Groups can be separated by dept, job code, location, etc. It is the same assumption that unless you buy one of the Big Dogs – Saba, SumTotal, Plateau, etc., The first thing you should do is write down what specific features you are looking for in the product. But, with a twist. You see, most people would start with.
