Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. Mobile Learning/HTML5 output – doesn’t hurt and has to be considered. It pitches that it is a m-learning product because it supports HTML5. It doesn’t output to HTML5, though. #8

And, with the costs of a LCMS or even some CMSs, you might want to seek out the open source – FREE way. Unless you plan to add some APIs (since they are open source, you could) to create reports on some data or do robust data collection, it is not going to happen. video, Flash (.flv), Yes and No.

open up exciting opportunities for people to access relevant information where and when they require it. Flash will still have an impact (at least in the area of mobile learning). Corollary => Open Source Video Technologies I'm dealing right now with delivery of video on mobile devices. It's a mess.

Continued growth for open source solutions; Moodle is still the king; especially in education, although it is slowly starting to appear in the business and government side. #2 A couple of rapid content authoring tool vendors are incorporating HTML5 features in their tool, which can be used on tablets, and of course the iPad.

Things like file format (Flash vs. PDF, PowerPoint vs. Spreadsheet) can make a difference in what systems are a potential fit. Does the LMS support HTML5 versions of SCORM? Some eLearning courses use video, others use written materials. Does the system accept SCORM courses? If so, what versions? Compatibility.
