A learner can watch the steps in a procedure with text describing what is happening. Or, you can use audio using a recorded narration or text-to-speech technology. do they have Flash capability)? Remember, for mLearning, Apple products such as the iPhone and iPad do not run Flash.

From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . FT’s Aura product. Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product. With this product, you can collaborate in real time. HTML5: Must be a Fad.

When people think authoring tools, three products typically come to mind. I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. Articulate loves to say that Engage is used often, but from folks I have spoken with who use the product, that doesn’t seem to be the case.

Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. HTML5 templates. Layers, Triggers and Actions.

Assessment/Survey/Polls – If your product doesn’t have it – you need it. I hope it does – especially with SaaS products. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. It isn’t. People want it. Super slow.

Flash will still have an impact (at least in the area of mobile learning). Prediction #4 => Text-to-Speech Growth Accelerates Watson (the IBM machine that beat humans on Jeopardy) shows us how intelligent machines can help answer certain kinds of questions. In the Fall of 2010, I did a series on Text-to-Speech in eLearning.
