I am still surprised on how vendors who are offering assessment only tools are staying in the game. Some vendors push heavily on PPT, implying that a great WBT is really a PPT converted to Flash. Flash output – still red hot. Flash isn’t going anywhere, except maybe the route of leaded gasoline.

Because the industry as a whole is a lemming, I expect more vendors to come on board. HTML5 output. Right now I am doing a survey on authoring tools (more on this at the end of the post) and so far 100% of all respondents state that HTML5 output is required in an authoring tool. HTML5 templates. I’ve always found this product to be the top of the line for PowerPoint to Flash course builds. HTML5 output, publish to the iPad and text to speech functionality. Screen capture – more and more vendors are adding it. Yes they were one of the first ones to output to HTML5, but they were not the first.

In a nutshell it was created to thwart piracy of the vendor’s file format i.e. to pirate e-books. Umm, lets see: Swf (yes, Flash and not Flash lite either) – An e-reader already boosts this as a new feature into the marketplace. Text to Speech – Many e-readers off this already.
