We’ve been building a lot of eLearning Flash templates lately and I started to think what I’ve learned that I might be able to share. Lots of people like to use templates to start a project. Here are my 6 tips to build Flash eLearning templates that are more user-friendly: 1. Create Folders in the Library.

This process may assist you in the next year or two as we prepare for potential course re-development opportunities due to the slow but eventual demise of the Flash player. These text-only (no audio) courses were built more than five years ago with a lesser known authoring tool, and the finished products were generated in Flash.

Export to Flash is an old feature modeled in a new way. In previous versions of Captivate, for this feature to work, Flash needs to be installed on the same machine from where you want to export. Yes, for export, now there is no need for Flash to be installed at all. To export, go to File > Export > Flash CS5.

Recently I did a Webinar for Lectora users on how to use custom HTML5 inside Lectora projects. You simply choose a pre-made interaction/game, fill out the content forms within the tool and then publish an HTML5 or Flash object. In this webinar I focused on two awesome, but different HTML tools. Interaction Builder. Adobe Edge Animate.

Beware: the embedded movie is a SWF, you need a browser with enabled Flash Player to watch that movie. Everything worked fine for SWF output also in later versions. That means it will be automatically created when import or drag this action to the Library of a new project. in a future post.
