My experience has mostly been in higher ed, so I’ve always needed to do grading or more tracking than what this reader needs: I am the sole person involved with e-Learning in my branch, and I am mostly limited to using freeware. Â At present we are developing self-paced CBTS using PowerPoint, a PowerPoint-to-Flash converter, and HTML.

If the course is instructor-led, will you produce a participant guide, instructor guide and PowerPoint presentations? Some are freeware while others will have fees associated with them. Are you simply creating a web-based course, or are you partnering it with a job aid or online reference tool? Identify project milestones.

This little freeware tool plays just about any video format you can throw at it. PowerPoint. PowerPoint image for Aha! Since I work on three or four different computers, it’s great to have all my stuff available no matter where I’m signing in from. Honorable mention: VLC.

You can record audio and associate it with a PowerPoint slide, but did you know that you can create video from your PowerPoint? To go with my PPT slides. Generally speaking, a cobbled up MOOC using freeware is not going to ‘cut it’ because it wastes student time and looks unloved. Online learning design is not about slapping classroom PowerPoint into Articulate Presenter. As a colleague recently pointed out to me, 20 hours of the same teacher delivering content via video is boring.

What you need to do: Download and install Cloudberry Explorer (freeware). I use FileZilla (freeware) which lets me easily upload and manage my content. Resources : Free PowerPoint templates , free elearning templates , and free e-books. Load the courses on your site. Share your link. Great way to learn and get feedback.
