While, I can understand vendors who would rather not offer a “talent management or performance management&# option, the decision to ignore social learning, is strange. It is not as though, social learning is going to disappear. Time for these vendors to wake up, or see your audience share disappear. Event management.

The LMS/LCMS/Learning Portal market continues to be strong. In my latest directory, 393 LMS vendors – global, of which 34 or so are open source systems. Folding up shop and switching to a new market: Talent/Performance Management, new product lines not tied to e-learning, services. It was a myth.

While the global economy has yet to fully reverse itself, it is clear that many vendors believe it is, or realize that potential clients have no problem paying for it.
