I know SumTotal Learning Management gets tagged regularly when it comes to support. And I know folks who leave them are usually unhappy for various reasons, but I can tell you that I have had two in-depth meetings with SumTotal including one with the VP of Customer Service/Support and have seen the metrics. I like that. Litmos (Yes).

This is important because if an elearning course follows SCORM standards, it can be hosted by any LMS that also uses SCORM. SumTotal offers two levels of offering: Maestro for small-medium businesses and Enterprise for bigger organizations. In short, using SCORM is about standardization and compatibility across the industry.

And yes, folks running Training and L&D would take that data via the evaluation, and compute numbers to track the trends (or they should have) and what worked and didn’t work, based on the data. SumTotal – Today? Owned by SumTotal – who ruined it, because by then it was GeoLearning Maestro (not that great).

I’ll explain brand in a few moments, but there are some “brands” whose track records IMO do not live up to the hype or promises. Track and capture compliance data based upon specific courses that we provide to our learners. I’m a big believer in the “roadmap” track record. . Better: 1.

I track 1,225 systems around the world. . This was decided upon much earlier than the latest new tracking counts, which is how the 1,000 was the number to be based. Docebo, Axonify, Administrate, SumTotal, Cornerstone on Demand, Spoke by Unboxed Technology, Service Rocket, Saba, LearnUpon. I mean, 31 sure, but 64 or 900? .

While I track now 1,300 learning systems around the world, the rankings are based on 1,000. Trust me, you will not be overwhelmed, it is developed in an easy and user-friendly way (that said, I will be hosting webinars to show its power, how it works, blah blah, when it is about to go live and then goes live). I identify the Big Dogs as SumTotal by Skillsoft (yes, that is the actual name), Cornerstone OnDemand, Saba, SucessFactors and Oracle Taleo (although, I ask myself who is using this and if you still are why?). Total number of vendors that do (out of 690 that I now track), less than 15. SumTotal by Skillsoft. But I digress.
