I’ve written previously about how I’ve been toying around with the augmented reality app Aurasma. In their excitement to scan the image, they did so immediately after installing the app – but of course without the link, the app had nothing to connect the image to my augmentation. Another lesson learned.

It can also superimpose virtual images onto the physical world. The FDA approved Opensight, a Microsoft AR-enhanced medical imaging product , which allows clinicians to overlay scans onto the patient and interact with the data in 3D. VR headsets and AR glasses remain toys. But AR is much more than voice commands.

You add your content, drag and drop, add video, images, etc. Some people, including myself, had an e-mail with a bar code you could scan at the badge booth pick up. You can do it all, including add video, images, etc. I will say they gave me three of the carrot doll/toy like things for my dogs. Leapfactor. Bar code blues.

The makers of masterpieces such as Toy Story and The Lion King evidently couldn’t engineer a dinky little augmented reality app that would work on my device of choice – or even on my device of second choice. I discovered the Aurasma app a while ago, and I’ve been toying around with it to get a sense of how it works. She appeared.
