previous rants on this topic ) Until I get some explanations though, Im pretty well amazed at the academics involved in this scheme. have you looked at the model of the Public Library of Science journals and found insurmountable issues there? Im feeling stupid here because I just dont freaking get it!

Im going to head over and check out the feeds from the CBO blog and the Dept. Actually there are some good ones on the list like the Smithsonian and the Library of Congress. USA.gov also has a nice list of other U.S. federal government blogs here. of Transportation blogs. Oh come on, I kid!

Even worse, I like bookstores better than I like libraries because I like to write in my books as I read and dog-ear pages and in general, rough them up a bit as I read them. Im also usually working on two or three books at a time, not because Im that smart but just because I usually have one staked out in a couple of different locations.

Why not follow the model of the Public Library of Science Journals ? Im sorry but to my simple country mind the choice is clear.more, more, more or less, less,less. But having just come off a 2-year editorial stint on an open access journal (Evidence Based Library and Information Practice), I'm more in tune with reality.
