Online learning – which EdTech refers to as remote learning (I guess remote viewing was unavailable because the CIA tried it during the Cold War). Many “experts, including some analysts,” use learning systems to refer to all learning systems except an LMS.  And who takes the whammy for that?

I only ask because I rarely see note of that company’s training. Are they training these folks on all subjects or just compliance? Do they see online learning as a key cornerstone or just a stone next to their ILT columns? Use Propaganda techniques (I’ll provide them a second) to gain interest and buy-in.

It happened with a vendor that I was quite impressed with several months back. Or maybe it was that super sweet real estate agent explaining that the area was quiet, only for you to find out, after you moved in, that the train which is a 1/4 out can be heard at 12 a.m. How am I getting bamboozled with an LMS vendor. Exactly.

Nor is the “we gave everyone a password and are making training mandatory and that will get them in there,” nor “our customers will love this easy access to their free or paid online learning courses.” No offense to any vendor, but I always did Q&A prior to signing off and saying yep, all done. .
