They’ve hit a wall with features that don’t accomplish what a vendor promised. Previously, before a multitude of specialized solutions burst onto the landscape, LMS choices were limited to a handful of “one-size-fits-all” vendors. It happens at least once a week.

Vendors saying “have you looked at XYZ” (which is their system). plus all the vendors will be found in FindAnLMS), I do have systems I can recommend based on various criteria. Yet, as I have often noted, it is rarely pushed upon in an RFP, let alone a demo. Folks seem fine with the vendor noting how awesome their support is, without extracting any metrics or verifiable data. . And I ask it often when talking to vendors. Saba the same thing.

Workforce management is vague and ambiguous enough to do well in 2020, albeit for learning it would seem to me that workforce enlightenment would be better suited, unless you plan to incorporate additional HCM functions into your learning system, which of course, will place you completely into the segment of SuccessFactors, Cornerstone, SumTotal, Saba Cloud, Talentsoft among others. I know of vendors who tell me they are not in the content business. I love forecasts.

These are being reported out of the larger eLearningGuild population and I would claim that they are likely more accurate than survey research that goes through the vendors themselves. Several of the LMS vendors appear more than once, such as Oracle. But given the number of respondents who've rated them low on satisfaction, it would give me pause during a selection process (so that makes me worried about sales), it also would have worried me as a potential investor.
