I was surprised at the number of directories, sites noting open source “free” systems, blog posts and so on, that listed what they viewed as “free systems” tied around open source. Absorb LMS – 100% fee-based. Accord LMS – 100% fee-based, not open source. Have servers on site?

In the cloud or on your own servers. Low cost systems are typically SaaS based (then again, the LMS industry as a whole is more SaaS based than hosted on your servers). Feature sets include IDP, mentor page, class side view, parent portal, file repository, blog for each student, event mgt and lots lots more. Bottom Line.
