You added “objects” ADDIE (developed for everything but e-learning) was tapped. I went with a Hybrid form of ADDIE. Macromedia Dreamweaver came out with templates. Dreamweaver was the tool to use for web design and development. They have no knowledge about ADDIE or Kirkpatrick. Storyboards were common.

Most of it came, via 3rd party providers, or what we referred to as “boutique shops” – think custom development (fee-based) that someone, company, government, institution, and so forth hired to create a course or courses. ISP (Internet Service Providers) fees were high. Oh, and access wasn’t free.

They took a premise of strong course design that allows interactivity and engagement, with knowledge of ADDIE or at least some basic ID understanding, and flipped it into a PPT template so that you can create quickly your courses and get them online. Then Dreamweaver, a tool for designing web sites, rolled out templates for course building.

The Ed Tech class was more of an introduction to the theories of instructional design, mainly the ADDIE model. This class is really helping me to become confident in Dreamweaver and is also teaching me a thing or two about Photoshop. I was particularly interested in the subject of performance analysis.
