ToolBook authoring tool - this is the DHTML authoring tool used at my company, but prior to this I used TrainerSoft (now Outstart Trainer), which is my preference. FYI: Most of what I make are asynchronous WBTs. Please feel free to share what is in your toolbox or any recommendations on tools I should add.

e-Learning web-based training (WBT) development tool : This will most likely be your "go to" tool for developing asynchronous online courses and/or assessments (OutStart Trainer, Articulate, ToolBook, etc., Many tools have trial periods or are free. Keep in mind some may be DHTML output, others create Flash SWFs.

It's free which improves satisfaction. If nothing else, it causes the perception that there's a free competitor. OutStart Evolution LMS OutStart 2 8.40 Maybe it's good I didn't post this until today. Moodle scores very high in satisfaction, but we need to qualify that result a bit. Extention LMS Acadia HCS 1 9.60
