Last week, I attended DevLearn. I suspected that the expo would feature a large quantity of rapid content authoring tools. From products that ranged from the latest versions of RCATs to new vendors in the space, including text to speech. . Simply put, one vendor has over 200 Flash-based templates in their product.

Long has tools such as Studio and Captivate been on the higher side, the same can be said for vendors such as Rapid Intake and dominKnow. Rapid Intake – Talk about price increase. Platte Canyon – Toolbook 11 (full version) $2,795 per license. Fear of the Mobile Bogeyman aka HTML5.

Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. Mobile Learning/HTML5 output – doesn’t hurt and has to be considered. The version you want is the Pro version which comes with Corel Paint Shop Pro, Qarbon Viewlet builder. Solid set of features.
