What I am hearing and seeing in E-Learning

It comes from me talking to vendors, buyers, monitoring the industry all the while taking notes and seeing the trends/patterns appear right before my eyes. What has always amazed me are number of e-learning vendor web sites whose design looks like it came from 1995 when Netscape ruled the land. Frankly, it is unreal.

History of the LMS

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. CBT was the “new” and exciting way to learn. Oh, and access wasn’t free. WBT (Web-Based Training).

Customer Complaints, How to Avoid the Traps

Upgrades – free? Remember that the cost you paid for with X-LMS for the 3rd party content is not going to be the same price as your new LMS vendor – this is assuming that you purchased the 3rd party business courses for example, through your X-LMS vendor and not directly through the content vendor themselves.

The e-learning market is on an upswing. 2011 will show profitable gains for a large portion of vendors across the sector. This is what makes OpenSesame different than other marketplaces out there.
