I was also asked why I didn't use the term PLE (Personal Learning Environment). Sound like a PLE? For those who don't, the institutional VLE (or perhaps no web based use at all) is an option. This may sound like a climb down from my position on the death of the VLE, but It is not. The two are not to be confused.

The provisional programme for the 4th Plymouth e-Learning Conference is complete and has been posted onto the Conference Website. Now I can take a breath and sit back (even if it's just for a few hours). It's an exciting programme I think, and tops all the previous ones in both scope and depth.

Essentially, an ILE is a space (like a website or intranet site) that centralises relevant learning resources in a particular domain.
