Another set of standards that has the same aim is AICC. SCORM is much more widely used today, but that doesn’t mean we can forget about AICC entirely. Users can choose to filter the database by key product features including category, deployment method, licensing options, and standards supported. Also SCORM 1.2 & AICC. Moving Forward in 2011. These should be considered standards for vendors in this space in 2011 or at least those who want a competitive edge. Scenario based or sim feature beyond the standard few branching that many come with. 2011, the iPad accounts for 95% share of the market.

xAPI has become the valid standard for tracking all types of learning external to the LMS, yet I still haven’t developed a project, even a portfolio piece, using xAPI. If not, is it time that we start looking for more flexible standards? For me, the challenges I face are the time to learn new skills. Is SCORM still relevant?

An LRS is an integral element in the process flow for utilizing the Experience API (xAPI) standard by ADL (Advanced Distributed Learning).
