Another set of standards that has the same aim is AICC. SCORM is a set of packaging standards that means once your elearning is set up with the right file structure, uploading a course to the LMS is just a matter of uploading a.zip file. There are several versions of the SCORM standards. There’s a limit to what it can track.

Feature sets – they have to be more than PPT to Flash or add an audio clip and video clip to the course. Mobile Learning/HTML5 output – doesn’t hurt and has to be considered. It pitches that it is a m-learning product because it supports HTML5. It doesn’t output to HTML5, though. #8

I agree the technologies to create, deploy and manage HTML5-based mobile web apps will greatly improve in 2012 but I don't feel they will mature to the point they can replace all native apps – at least in most of the primary enterprise use cases for learning that’s managed and tracked. This feature set will become a standard for systems in the “cloud&# because of the reasons stated above – everyone hates those options, at T&D departments at their businesses. Remember when only a few offered the PPT to Flash option in their tools? They output only to HTML5. Becoming a standard in the industry.

Innovation abounded and the push to focus on the “PPT to Flash&# angle continued to shine. You get the Flash code – YES – you get the code, which you can do whatever you want with it. 264 codec, which the iPad supports, and a few browsers for HTML5. Many vendors hyping PowerPoint to Flash angle as key feature.
