This isn’t a beauty contest, nor a pay for play (I NEVER accept that, nor play that game, nor do I accept any referral fees or whatever some vendors offer for recommending them). Not everyone gets in. But I digress.

CBT Prior to online learning known then as WBT, and then the latter term of e-learning (vendors today, use it to refer to content that is online), there was CBT. Analytics and Reporting This was essential, because you could find out what the learner/student knew or didn’t know. WBT (Web-Based Training). Pie charts. And yes, text.

Cornerstone OnDemand (for learning) – One of the early ones for corporate learning, still around, and despite what many think, they were a leader in 2020 for Tier 4 NexGen features. Analytics continues to be a Jekyll and Hyde. Are the analytics worthwhile? The Original Four Trailblazers. Never to be underestimated.

Since my Top 10 list of LMS vendors has been posted online, I have received quite a bit of e-mail wondering why the biggest names: Cornerstone On Demand, Saba, SumTotal and SuccessFactors are not on the list. A LMS should first be a LMS. ” They were listed number 20 in 2012. Bottom Line.

Act 2 – Select only a vendor who is well known (name recognized). What it does mean, is that the vendor is strong in marketing and getting their name out to the general public. Trust me when I say this, someone out there was the first to use Cornerstone OnDemand. For if they were, everyone would want to buy him.
